If you are a ‘budding’ crafter looking to craft flowers from recycled toilet paper rolls, then I’ve got 10 clever and sustainable ideas for you.
If there’s one thing I love crafting with it’s cardboard toilet paper tubes. These normally go straight into my recycling bin, but as they lend themselves so easily to lots of clever eco-friendly craft ideas I’m saving mine up for my daughters and me to get making.
If you’re wondering what to do with your old loo roll tubes, then I’ve already shared heaps of ideas on how to make animals from toilet paper tubes. But if flowers are more your thing, then you’ve hit the jackpot! I’ve been busy rounding up heaps of fun flower crafts that you can make from toilet paper rolls.
Whether you’re looking for a rainy-day activity using materials you’ve already got to hand, or easy sustainable craft ideas for kids, these upcycled blooms tick all the boxes.
10 Recycled Toilet Paper Roll Flower Crafts To Make

Ready to get crafting? Here are my favourite floral finds, all made from recycled toilet paper rolls:
Sunflowers

These beautiful sunflowers by The Shabby Tree are made entirely from recycled toilet paper rolls. Even the centre of the flower is cleverly made from the rolls, in a process that is not as hard as you would think.
Daisies

These cute daisies by Vicky’s Story would be a lovely plastic-free and zero-waste way to decorate a cake or to pop in a plant pot that you’re giving as a gift. Made from toilet paper rolls, wooden lolly sticks and crepe paper – they come together so quickly and easily that even beginner crafters and older kids could manage to make them.
Spring Flowers

These fun blooms by Things To Share & Remember are an easy recycled craft for kids to make. All you need is your cardboard tubes and some recycled card and you’re good to go.
This DIY uses glitter, but I personally would avoid this. Regular glitter is a microplastic, but it’s been found that biodegradable glitter isn’t much better. Studies have found that biodegradable glitter causes the same damage to rivers as ordinary glitter.
If you’re looking for a way to make your flowers sparkle sustainably, try my guide to environmentally friendly glitter alternatives. Or you can just skip the glitter.
Snowdrops

Love snowdrops, but are sad that they don’t last all year round? Jumble Tree has you sorted, with this beautiful flower craft. All you need are some toilet roll tubes or kitchen roll tubes, and an egg box. Jumble Tree then has all the steps you need to follow to make these pretty spring flowers.
Potted Flowers

Want to make some potted blooms? Laura Radniecki has a fun craft tutorial showing you how to make these toilet paper roll flowers. You need some little terracotta pots (or similar), and some sticks. And whilst Laura uses felt balls in the photo above, you could use small pebbles or stones instead.
Fuss-Free Flowers

If you only have toilet paper rolls to hand then you can still get crafty. Pink Stripey Socks has an easy tutorial to make these tulips, daisies and cacti (although technically a plant rather than a flower!). All you need are some empty tubes, scissors and paints and you’re sorted.
Paper Posy

If you’re looking for an easy recycled craft for kids to make, then Jumble Tree’s heart posy is a good one to consider making. Younger kids may need help with the scissors, but older kids should be able to do this with ease. You just need a toilet paper tube and some coloured paper and you’ve got a lovely craft that would make a sweet gift.
Bright Bouquet

If you want to make an array of blooms, then First Palette has all the details on how to make this bright bouquet. You could then use these to make homemade greeting cards, pictures, and present toppers (as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bows), to name but a few.
Muted Bouquet

Some of these flowers may look like they require advanced-level crafting skills, but if you can cut and stick then you can totally do this! Baker Ross has got the full tutorial, with clear photos at every step so you know exactly where to cut and stick.
All you need are your toilet paper rolls, alongside a pencil, ruler, scissors, skewer sticks, and glue.
Spring Flowers

Finally, if you want to make a flowering plant that lasts forever – without any of the plastic associated with artificial plants – then Krokotak has the DIY for you. Simply collect four toilet paper rolls, and with a bit of clever folding and stapling, you’ve got this pretty plant. Beautiful!
