The authority set the connection fee at $275 per connection, established a rate of $40 per quarter to homeowners, and officially awarded 19 sewCer construction contracts for the $21,632,474 project. It also passed its operating rules and regulations, an agreement to provide sewage transportation treatment to Manheim Twp. and the payment of $256,922 to townships and boroughs for loans. MEET MONDAY Manheim Twp.

officials will meet Monday to vote on accepting LASA services at a cost of $100,000 annually. For their loans to LASA, the municipalities and the amounts they will be paid are: en -East Hempfield $92,629.29. Manor Tw $32,838.19. -West Hempfield $22,179.15. -Lancaster Ho $11,640.25.

AL -East Petersburg, bodies -Mountville, $30,576.75. REPAY LOAN Mountville will also receive $23,800 for reimbursem*nt in connection with construction of sewer facilities. LASA also approved the repayment of a loan from Commonwealth Na- en tional Bank, totalling $55,451.84. LASA members stressed that the $275 connection fee will be charged for each connection to the sewer line. If an apartment, example, dwelling and has would 150 be better served by two connection points, LASA would charge $550.

In its resolution about connection fees, LASA stated it would be up to the home owner to pay for the line coming from his home to curb or property line, and the work is subject to LASA approval. QUARTERLY RATE A quarterly rate of $40 was established for the following: single family dwellings, each apartment unit, each mobile home, church, municipal building, fire house, post office, salon, barber ONE shop, financial institution, and service station without car washing facilities. -06 1691 Day schools will be charged $4 per pupil per quarter, and -97 hotel and motels will pay $16 biv per quarter for each unit. Restaurants and bars will be bits charged $4 per quarter for 119. each employe plus $4 per quarter for each seat reguTarly intended for customer use, with a minimum of $80 per quarter.

RETAIL STORES Grocery stores, drug stores and retail stores with less than 10 employes will pay $4 per quarter for each employe with a minimum of $40 per quarter. Funeral homes will pay $60 per quarter. Other commercial or business places not regularly dispensing food or beverages for consumption on the premises will 1 pay $4 for each employe plus $40 per quarter, for each public rest with a minimum of $40 per quarter. LASA has also compiled a list of other businesses, such as private clubs, nursing homes, bowling alleys and service stations with car wash facilities, which will pay according to gallonage. RATES LISTED The rates per quarter are: 0 to 15,000 gallons $40; 15,000 to 100,000 gallons $2.20 per thousand gallons; 100,000 to 1 million gallons $1.80 per thousand gallons; and all over 1 million gallons $1.20 per thousand gallons.

For the above purposes a meter or measuring device will be installed at the sewer connection. A 14-page list of rules and regulations was passed. However, LASA expects many changes and amendments before the 1 rules are applicable, sometime in 1974 when the actual hook-ups begin. LIABILITIES Among the liabilities and responsibilities of LASA and the homeowners and businesses, one rule warns that the authority will not be responsible for damage caused by basem*nt flooding due to a pluglarged sewer line. 101 The regulations also specify what types hook materials can ,19 snobe used in the and what is types of sewage authority will refuse to handle.
