In 2017, Aadhya, daughter of businessman Krishnakanth, arrives inVaranasifromNew York. Seeking revenge for an incident that happened in Khansaar, her father's rivals unsuccessfully attempt to kidnap her. Rescued by Deva's friend, Bilal, she hides inTinsukiawhere Deva and his mother now live in secrecy. Aadhya enlists to work as a teacher in the government school where Deva's mother works. Eventually, Krishnakanth's enemies trace Aadhya and attempt to kidnap her, but are successfully stopped by Deva. Fearing for Deva's life, his mother decides to leave the town with him. Meanwhile, Aadhya is kidnapped by a convoy lead by Rinda, and branded with the seal of Khansaar. However, Deva stops the convoy with his artillery. The incident is witnessed by Radha Rama Mannar, Vardha's step-sister, himself, and his advisor, Gaikwad alias "Baba". Radha Rama strategized to pit Deva and Vardha against each other, as the latter will now have to punish the former for interfering in an issue involving the seal of Khansaar, a rule which was imposed by Deva himself a couple of years ago.

Vardha turned to Deva, who lived in Gujarat then, for help and brought him back to Khansaar, with the permission of his mother. In a scuffle, Deva killed Vishnu, the son of Narang, one of the Doras, when he attempted to force a young girl into prostitution. During the trial, Narang was beheaded by Deva when he manhandled Vardha. Both Deva and Vardha were imprisoned along with the latter's loyalists: Baachi Mannar, Vardha's younger brother, Ringa, Bilal, and Gaikwad alias "Baba". Ranga, a Ghaniyaar tribesman, struck a pact with Rudra Raju to kill Vardha. On the day of the voting of whether to continue or terminate the ceasefire, Vardha, with his final vote, voted to terminate the ceasefire. Immediately, all the three tribes staked their claim for the throne. Meanwhile, Vardha, with assistance from Deva, broke out of prison and eliminated Ranga and his men.
On Raja Mannar's return, it was revealed that Bhaarava was actually a Shouryaanga tribesman and survived Raja Mannar's massacre of the tribe, along with his confidante and henchman, Dheru, and other kids from their tribe. Dheru further revealed that Dhaara Raisaar's son was still alive and is none other than Deva alias Devaratha Raisaar. That same night, Vardha named Deva as his "Salaar", just as his loyalists came to know that Deva is a Shouryaanga tribesman, while elsewhere, Bhaarava and the other Shouryaanga tribesmen got ready to storm Khansaar.
